A Nylon program runs on the board itself, on bare metal. You write it on your own computer and press run; the board is found over your network, and your program is sent to it. There is no SSH, no terminal, and no Linux on the board.
On your computer
IntelliJ IDEA 2025.2 or newer. Community or Ultimate; Nylon works the same in both.
The Nylon plugin. It gives you the language, the board list, and the run button. The plugin is not published yet — it goes to the JetBrains Marketplace with V0, and this page will carry the link.
On your board
A card image, written to a microSD card. The image is the whole system: there is no operating system to install under it. Images are published per board at downloads.grandtheorem.com, and are not up yet.
See Boards for what runs today.
Libraries
A library is fetched by its coordinate when your build names it, and checked against the .sha256 published
beside it.
| Library | Coordinate | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Raspberry Pi | com.grandtheorem:raspberry-pi:0.1.0 | The board: GPIO, UART, I²C, SPI, PWM, the status LED |
| Build HAT | com.grandtheorem:buildhat:0.1.0 | LEGO Technic motors and sensors over the Build HAT |
Both publish to downloads.grandtheorem.com with V0, and are not up yet.
